Josh P. Cohen Biography

Josh P. Cohen is a local jazz and blues-based singer-songwriter and pianist. Hailing from Ohio, he moved to Lancaster in late 2015 to serve as a librarian at Elizabethtown College. As a songwriter, he’s drawn to idiosyncratic character sketches like those found in the songs of Randy Newman and Tom Waits.

Josh has also been involved with local theater as a writer and performer and has had his songs featured in theater productions, including Les Hunter’s original play Weimar, which won a 2020 Ohio Arts Council Award. He is excited to be participating in Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival for the first time this year.
