Lowry Blues Band
Lowry Blues Band’s style is rooted in blues, honky-tonk and zydeco.
The Lowry Blues Band is led by Tom Lowry. Tom is a multi-talented musician with a mastery of piano, organ, harmonica and accordion, and his bluesy vocals bring it all together. His playing style is rooted in blues, honky-tonk and zydeco, and he has recorded and played with a wide variety of blues and R&B stars. Tom is backed up by three musicians with lifetimes of performances across the country.
Gordy Keeney, on drums and vocals, started his career in high school and touring with Humble Gathering for many years before settling in Mount Gretna, PA. He has played in numerous local bands and brings a steady and smooth groove to the band.
Jon Hill, on bass and vocals, is a well-known, if not legendary, player from Hummelstown, PA.
Gary “Rocky” Rothrock, on guitar and vocals, has been gigging continuously since he was 15 years old and is best known for his leadership at the Thursday night Blues Jam put on by the Blues Society of Central PA, which is celebrated its 25th year in 2023. Rocky also provides vocals and guitar in Acoustic Stew and recently, with Gordy, in Soul House.
These musicians started playing together during sets at the BSCP Blues Jam and over time developed a collaboration and sound that just had to become a band!
Their music covers a wide variety, including old and new blues tunes, rock favorites and some oldies and original songs.
