Nina de Vitry

Lancaster Roots & Blues RETURNS - Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Sept 27, 28 & 29

A Vocalist You Won't Want to Miss

“Nina de Vitry is an emerging songwriter and musician from Lancaster, PA who grew up amidst starkly different musical influences: her father’s gypsy jazz band, old-time string band festivals in the Appalachian mountains, and hours upon hours of classical violin and piano lessons. In her late teenage years she picked up the guitar and began writing songs that reflect a unique fusion of all of these musical experiences. With influences ranging from the jazz of Norah Jones and Bossa Nova classics of Stan Getz to the old “two-steppin” country of Hank Williams, Nina describes her sound as a fusion of Jazz, Soul, and Folk.

In December of 2017 she released her debut EP, Trust a Dream, and has been leading and performing with her solo project ever since. She has won international songwriting acclaim as a two-time jazz category finalist in the 2017 and 2018 John Lennon International Songwriting contests, as well as national recognition in the Telluride Troubador Songwriting and Woody Guthrie Songwriting competitions of 2016 and 2017. Nina de Vitry brings a tangible energy and genuine spirit to the stage as soothing vocals meet warm guitar, lively piano, soft percussion, and moments of tasteful violin or trumpet reminiscent of the jazz age.”
