Nina de Vitry biography

Prepare to be captivated by the storytelling of a folk-inspired songwriter, yet the soul and allure of a voice rooted in jazz. Nina de Vitry is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Weaving influences ranging from Amy Winehouse and Stan Getz to the modern Lake Street Dive, she manages to create a sound that is both soulful and refreshingly unique.

In recent months Nina has performed at renowned events including the 58th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival. She has won international acclaim as a two-time jazz category finalist in the 2017 and 2018 John Lennon International Songwriting contests and a jazz category finalist in the 2019 Unsigned Only competition.

Nina brings a tangible energy and genuine spirit to the stage as her soothing vocals meet warm guitar, tasteful percussion, and lively piano reminiscent of the jazz age. For the October 2021 Roots & Blues Festival, she will be joined by some of the most talented musicians coming up in the scene: Micah Graves on the piano, Jackson Trout on the drums, and Sam Leslie on the electric bass. Keep any eye out for her debut full length album, which she plans to release in 2022.

“Nina de Vitry’s soulful voice, jazzy composition, and creative lyrics make her breakout EP, Trust a Dream, a sweet treat for the ears.” -Krisann Janowitz [Independent Clauses]
