Alanna Royale

Lancaster Roots & Blues RETURNS - Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Sept 27, 28 & 29

Funk with Soul

“Lead by vocalist Alanna Quinn‐Broadus, the neo‐soul group reignites the fire under the ass of soul that once burned bright with stars like Etta James, Isaac Hayes, and Bobby Womack.”(Pancakes and Whiskey). This is not a comparison Alanna Royale takes lightly. While obviously drawing influence from the greats of the past, the band has a deep desire to redefine and stretch the boundaries of soul music. Alanna Royale combines their favorite elements of 70’s funk and soul, rock, and pop, all executed by their fearless leader and sensual vocalist, Alanna Quinn‐Broadus, an unparalleled rhythm section – Jared Colby on guitar, Gabriel Golden on bass and Matt Snow on drums ‐ and a tremendously talented two‐piece horn section – Kirk Donovan on trumpet and Diego Vasquez on trombone.

Without a single recorded song, Alanna Royale was able to obtain an impressive fan base and reputation solely because of their unforgettable live performances – an East Nashville soul band rooted in the Boston punk and hardcore scene. These unforgettable live performances led to a massive welcoming of AR’s “Bless Her Heart” EP in January 2013, and the follow up debut full length “ACHILLES” in September 2014. “In less than a year, they’ve intoxicated the city of Nashville with their sultry blend of soul, funk, and pop. This band can walk on stage to a crowd of cell phones and blank stares and leave behind a mob of sweaty, enthusiastic new fans.”
