Covid-19 plan for Lancaster Roots and Blues 2021

Hi Everyone,

We have committed to the following protocols and guidelines to increase the safety of our artists, fans, staff, vendors and volunteers. This will be the first time that some of you attend a large event since early 2020, which is why we set safety protocols above and beyond what the state of Pennsylvania requires of us. We appreciate your cooperation and participation.

As an attendee, you and your friends and family will be required to provide one of the following to enter the Festival: A Vaccination Record showing you were fully vaccinated at least two weeks in advance of the festival or a negative covid test administered within 48hrs prior to the festival.

To make life easier and speed your entry into the festival we have partnered with CrowdPass, a software platform that has been specifically designed for large events. Think of it as a vaccine Passport. The CrowdPass system will require you to answer health questions, upload your vaccination card or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test administered no more than 48hrs before you arrive.

Once your vaccination card has been uploaded to the platform, it typically takes 12 hours for your status to be verified.

Unvaccinated attendees who can submit your proof of the negative test via CrowdPass no earlier than 48 hours before you arrive at the venue. If you try to submit earlier than 48 hours your submission will be rejected.

Once CrowdPass verifies your proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test, you will receive a digital health pass by email to present along with your tickets before you enter the festival.

You are not obligated to use CrowdPass.  It is just a service we provide to help speed up entry to the festival. If you do not use this system please bring your vaccine card or proof of negative test to the entrance of the Art Expo at the Convention Center.

For visitors from New York State, we will also accept the Empire Pass at the gate, if you have one.

If you require a COVID Test: We are excited to announce our partnership with Curative, who will have a mobile testing site in front of the Queen Street entrance of the Convention center in  downtown Lancaster starting October 12 -14th, to help with the process of getting a covid test before the festival. No appointment needed!

Thank you for your understanding and being a part of the Roots and Blues family.

There will be a limited number of rapid covid tests available during the weekend of the festival October 15, 16 and 17.  If you are local, we urge you to come early for your test as mentioned above and if you are from out of town we encourage you to get a test at your local health provider or drug store.  This will save on long lines at the testing trailer during the festival weekend.

Let’s bring live music back to the stages!

Box Office Hours are:

Friday Oct. 15 – 2pm – 10pm

Saturday Oct. 16 – 12pm – 10pm

Sunday October 17 – 11am – 10pm

Promoters Note:  This is the reality of the concert industry in late 2021. It is apparent that Covid-19 is not going away anytime soon. This is our 4th spike since Covid started. It is expected that it will peak and be on the downswing by the festival date. Most adult Americans are vaccinated, and we are going forward with the festival. It makes life a lot simpler and safer if everyone gets a vaccine. I encourage everyone to do so. If you can’t, then we will accept a negative Covid-19 test as outlined above.

For the foreseeable future we are going to have to learn live with this virus. Most probably we will have to take booster shots over the next year or two.  I will do that if necessary. It sucks, but really, we get a flu shot every year, so what’s the difference? We have to learn to live with this, so let’s really Live. We don’t want to wait another year to hear great music in Lancaster with our fellow music fans.  I hope you can join us this year. It’s going to a whole lot of fun!

See you soon,

Rich Ruoff
