“Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington has a long and fantastic history in Lancaster. I first booked Walter and his band The Roadmasters in 1987 at Chameleon Club. They were on their first tour out of New Orleans and I gave them a rare two-night appearance on Tuesday and Wednesday. (Not normally great nights for an unknown band.) Tuesday, as one would imagine, started out with a small crowd. After the first set many in the audience went for the pay phone (This was before cell phones) and started calling their friends. By the second set, the club started filling up. On Wednesday night there was a line at the door before opening. This was all based on word of mouth. They were that good! Walter is a warm and genuine person and I am so happy to have them return to Lancaster.”
